What are no-prep porcelain veneers?

No-prep porcelain veneers are exactly what their name suggests that they are – porcelain veneers that can be successfully fitted and produce a great result without the need for any preparatory work and with no permanent effect on the teeth.

Porcelain veneers are super-thin, shell-like covers that are attached to the outer face of the teeth in order to hide imperfections such as chips and stains. They can also be used to add thickness or height to teeth, or to hide any gaps that have been created between them. Each veneer is bespoke, created specifically for the tooth over which it will be placed. Created from high-grade porcelain, it can also be glazed in a color that closely resembles the patient’s natural teeth. To fit a regular porcelain veneer, a small amount of the enamel on the front of the tooth must first be removed. Since enamel cannot regenerate, once the prep work has begun, that tooth will always require a veneer.
